Biography of Jeffrey L. Sailor, CPA

Jeff Sailor earned a Masters Degree in Accounting with an emphasis in auditing from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He passed the CPA exam on his first attempt in 1981.

PROFESSIONAL -

Following graduation, Mr. Sailor joined the auditing staff at Peat Marwick in Jacksonville, Florida where he worked on a variety of large, national corporate accounts. He moved to Ocala in 1983 and worked for two years at a local accounting firm. In December of 1984, he started his own full-service accounting practice. His services include: audit, review and compilation work; management and financial consulting services; individual and corporate tax preparation and representation; bookkeeping and financial statements; business accounting system consultation; and payroll services. To increase his auditing efficiency, Mr. Sailor has developed various auditing techniques as well as auditing software. His clientele range from small retail businesses to diverse national corporations.

Jeff also creates and teaches continuing professional education courses for CPA's in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. He has written numerous articles on accounting and business practices for local publications, as well as lectured on various financial topics for local educational, professional and civic organizations.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Beta Alpha Psi Honorary Accounting Fraternity. He also participates in the AICPA Quality Review Program.

CIVIC & CHARITABLE -

Mr. Sailor balances his career with active participation in a wide range of civic and community organizations. He has served as president of the Marion County Unit of the American Cancer Society, the Ocala Early Risers Civitan Club and Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Mid-Florida. He has served as treasurer and board member for the United Way of Marion County. He has also served on the local board of directors for Junior Achievement and teaches classes for JA each year. In addition, he has served on various committees for the Munroe Regional Development Foundation and the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of St. George Cathedral where he teaches Sunday school.
